Concilio, in conjunction with GOYA Foods, proudly hosted a Drive-Thru Fiesta Navideña on Friday, December 19, bringing holiday cheer and essential resources to the community during the festive season.
The drive-thru event took place from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and featured an extraordinary 10,000-pound food donation from GOYA Foods. The donation is the first of its kind in Philadelphia. Hundreds of families benefited from the distribution, receiving bags filled with much-needed GOYA food items just in time for the holidays.
Community partners and leaders joined Concilio to support the event, including members of the local fire department, Councilwoman Lozada, and State Representative Burgos, all of whom were on site to show their support and connect with residents.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, the Los Rumberos Jeep Club was in attendance, providing music and entertainment. The jeeps helped create a lively and celebratory environment while volunteers worked efficiently to assist in passing out bags of food to participants as they drove through.
Concilio extends its deepest gratitude to GOYA Foods for their remarkable generosity and continued support of Concilio’s mission to uplift and serve the community. Special thanks are also extended to the dedicated volunteers who helped assemble and distribute the food bags, ensuring the event ran smoothly and successfully. These volunteers include staff from the School District of Philadelphia, Office of Postsecondary Readiness, Congreso, Esperanza, Ceiba, APM, Norris Square Senior Community Center, and the Philadelphia Fire Department – Prevention Team, and the 25th District of the Philadelphia Police Department.
The Drive-Thru Fiesta Navideña exemplified the power of partnership, community, and compassion—bringing hope, nourishment, and holiday spirit to Philadelphia families in need.
