Project Description

Housing Counseling

Concilio strives to raise the quality of life for our community members through housing counseling services and education. We are committed to providing tools and knowledge so that community members have access to long-term stabilized housing.

Our bi-lingual housing counseling program provides free, confidential housing counseling services for residents of Philadelphia. Housing counseling services prepare individuals to be organized and knowledgeable when navigating the process of purchasing a home or at any time during the homebuyer process. Monthly bi-lingual workshops go over in detail, knowing your rights when wanting to purchase a home, moving tips, loan guidance, how to achieve good credit scores, and home inspection guidance. * We also offer quarterly credit workshops.

Individual counseling sessions are available for people interested in budget and credit counseling, pre-purchase, foreclosure, credit, real estate taxes owed, and tax rebates. Services also include help with completion of LIHEAP applications and USEF utility grant program. The Utility Grant program is designed to bring a customer’s delinquent account up to date. UESF’s financial assistance, the matching utility bill credit, and any contribution by the individual must zero out the utility bill. Families and individuals are eligible to apply for assistance every two years.
