Promoting Health Among Teens (PHAT!)
About 3 in 10 teenage girls become pregnant at least once before age 20, much higher than most other developed nations. Teen pregnancy severely limits health and social outcomes and opportunities. Only 40 percent of teenagers who have children before age 18 go on to graduate from high school, compared to 75 percent of teens from similar social and economic backgrounds who do not give birth until ages 20 or 21.
Concilio utilizes the PHAT! curriculum for abstinence-based, medically accurate sexual health education with pre-teens. An 8-hour intervention, the curriculum was developed by University of Pennsylvania
